Forever in our Hearts

It is with deep sadness and tender hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Gearing.

Mark passed on February 28th surrounded by loved ones.

In July of 2025, Mark was diagnosed with cancer. He never said he had cancer, only that he was healing from cancer. He kept this information mostly private as he focused on healing. After 7 months of intensive treatment, a deep focus on healing and so much courage and bravery, it seems his Soul had a different path and he passed his body.

There has been an outpouring of love for Mark from all over the World. He has assisted and touched the lives of so many people. Mark is known for his kindness, compassion, laughter, wisdom, generosity, brilliance, playful nature, desire to help others and his deeply loving Soul. May Mark’s Spirit live on within our hearts and inspire us to be in service to the greater good, as Mark demonstrated during this life.

Mark’s Service and Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at 10 am QLD Time.

This will also be live-streamed for those around the world who are unable to join us in person.

Somerville Funerals is located at Allambe Memorial Park - https://www.allambe.com.au/ When you enter Allambe, look for the orange Somerville sign. Take the first left and then follow the road to the left to get to the Somerville Chapel. Parking is directly outside the Chapel.

The Service will be live-streamed for those who are not able to come in person.

FOR MARK

We invite you to write a message to Mark, something meaningful and from your heart, that we will print out and place with Mark’s body for the service. These prayers and messages will then go through the cremation process with his body, surrounding him with love and sending him our love and support as he embarks on his new, magnificent adventure.

For those who will join us in person, you can bring your message with you or we will have paper for you to write your prayers on at the service.
